Modern fruit storage, as well as transport over land and on freight ships, is done in closed, often gas-tight containers, where currently no method for direct quality control of the fruit is available. Portable electronic noses could remedy this situation. The application of this new techniques presents a modern method of avoiding losses through over-ripeness and rotting.Downloads
