Abstract

To determine the size classification of wood chips, two screening methods (plain and cylinder screening) and an image analysis were compared. Compared to cylinder screening, plain screening resulted in higher portions of fine and off form parts on the average. With the image analysis there was a large degree of measurement consistency, whether there it was classified according to the vertical Feret diameter or to the equivalent diameter.
