With farming, the complex interaction structure “soil-vegetation-climate” is disturbed: choice of rotations, soil tillage, input of nutrients, plant protection and harvesting are measures for attaining high-quality products. The farmer uses a variety of highly specialised and expensive technology, which for cost reasons must be used optimally. On the other hand it is necessary to avoid damaging side effects, in order to stay competitive and eco-friendly at the same time. To prevent the conflict of goals – the mediation of good practice management should contribute to this. The latter is elaborated on, using the example of damaging soil compaction.Downloads
